Fiat India Private Limited is a joint venture concern between Fiat Group Automobiles S.p.A of Italy and Tata Motors Limited of India. The formal name of the company is Fiat India Automobiles Private Limited (FIAPL). The two companies have a 50:50 joint holding in Fiat India Private Limited.

   

Fiat Car Models



Fiat India currently has 4 passenger car models vying for customers in the Indian market. The models are:

  • Palio Stile
  • Palio Stile Multijet
  • Bravo
  • 500

The 500 model is the latest offering from the Fiat design stable. It is a 3-door compact passenger car. The wheelbase is 230cm.

World Class Car Manufacturing Unit



All Fiat car models are built or assembled at the Ranjangaon factory, Maharashtra. The factory has installed capacity of manufacturing 100,000 cars per year. The factory is also capable of manufacturing 200,000 automobile engines parallel to the car production. The Ranjangaon unit currently produces the Palio 1.1 and Palio 1.6 models. Fiat India will soon roll out its upcoming car models like Linea and Grande Punto from the factory by the end of 2008. Sophisticated car engines like the 1.3 liter Multijet Diesel engine and 1.2 liter Fire gasoline engine are also manufactured at the plant. The 1.4 liter Fire gasoline engine is also manufactured at the site.
