Bajaj Auto

In 1945 Bajaj Auto came into existence as M/S Bachraj Trading Corporation Pvt. Ltd. It started by importing two and three wheelers in 1948. In 1959, Bajaj Auto obtained license for the manufacturing of two and three wheelers.

   
In 1972, Bajaj introduced "Chetak scooter" the famous scooter brand for which Bajaj is known. In 1985, the manufacturing unit at Waluj, Aurangabad was inaugurated by the then President Shri Giani Zail Singh. In 1986 after the technical tie-up with Kawasaki Heavy Industries of Japan motorcycles were introduced by it. Bajaj Auto has been an integral part of the automobile industry of India. It has three plants all of which are located in Mahrashtra. They are at akurdi, Waluj and Chakan.
