In India Suzuki has a big manufacturing plant in Udyog Vihar, Gurgaon near Delhi. The plant, which is spanning over 37 acres of land, has an annual capacity of 2.5 lakh units. Suzuki has launched a campaign called �environment first�, which reflects the commitment of the leading global automobile giant towards producing environment friendly products. Not only the products but the plants and manufacturing units are also kept pollution free and eco-friendly.

   
In line with this spirit, the newly constructed plant for two wheelers at Gurgoan is kept at �zero discharge� levels. Among several other measures to keep the manufacturing process eco-friendly such as using recyclable packaging material, Suzuki uses natural light optimization and water harvesting systems along with employee awareness programs to implement the best ways to keep the plant, �green�.

Suzuki Motor Corporation History



Suzuki was started as a loom works business in Japan in 1909, which later on was incorporated in 1920. Suzuki was pioneer in automobile revolution in Japan post WWII. Its 125cc bike �Colleda� became a super hit on Japanese roads. Later on it entered into car manufacturing with a small car named as �Suzulight�.

Suzulight established Suzuki as the global brand as Suzuki used the most advanced technology in it. Constant innovation and commitment to quality took Suzuki to a very high place in the global markets. Suzuki motorbikes and cars became household names in all of America and Europe an later on in Asian countries too.

The brand Suzuki instilled confidence and stood for quality and reliability. Suzuki continued to produce value packed products and forged strategic partnerships and collaborations across the globe. It established its manufacturing units in several countries and provided technology and expertise to many global operators for mutual benefits.

It was incorporated as Suzuki Loom Manufacturing Co. in March 1920. Later on, it was rechristened to Suzuki Motor Co., Ltd. in June 1954. Finally it was named Suzuki Motor Corporation in 1990.

Its total revenue in US dollars is approximately�30.452 billion. Total assets of SMC are supposed to be US$26.84 billion in 2010. Suzuki Motor Corp is Japan's fourth largest automobile manufacturer, the top three being Toyota, Nissan and Honda.
